About the Program
History and Theory of Architecture is a Graduate Program with thesis, which offers an academic environment for critical thinking and research in the fields of design, architecture and urbanism. HT looks at the practice, history, theory, philosophy, and education of architecture and design through the lens of a series of paradigmatic shifts -namely, the spatial, critical, digital, ecological, affective, and decolonial turns-, which have shaped the social sciences of the past century to the present. Through courses, workshops, lecture series, excursions and thesis studies HT students gain skills to make advanced historical and theoretical enquiries, engage with contemporary architectural debates and practices, and produce original scholarly work. The program accepts graduates of social sciences in addition to all design disciplines, with the aim of fostering an interdisciplinary platform and a variety of scholarships are available for outstanding candidates. The program language is English.
