In that evening of inspiration, Selin Billi Mallinson, Elvan Omay, Selva Gündoğan and Melis Abacıoğlu will dive into "perspectives" and inspiring stories.

Speaker Bios:

Selin Billi Mallinson born in 1974 in Istanbul, Selin Billi is a graduate of the Vienna University, where she studied International Business with a full scholarship from the Austrian Government. She started her career in Vienna, at Ammiratu Puris Lintas Worldwide as Assistant Strategic Planner. She moved to Turkey in 1999 and joined the Dogus Group as Junior CRM Manager for Dogus Holding. In her 10+ years she spent with Dogus Group, Selin  also worked at Ixir Online as Channel Manager and got transferred to Garanti Bank as the Product Manager for their card issuing business. She spent 8 years at Garanti Bank and left the company as Vice President of Marketing where she was responsible for $30 million in marketing budget. In 2002, Selin generated the idea and co-founded euro.message, a pioneering company in email marketing in the EMEA region.  She has been running the business since 2010 with two other partners.  Her focus has been on expanding the business into international markets and she recently opened a branch office in Hamburg, Germany.

Elvan Omay is the director and curator of The School of Life Istanbul at Bilgi University. TSOL is an enterprise founded in London by Alain de Botton in 2008 and is devoted to developing emotional intelligence through the help of culture. Prior to TSOL, Elvan was a corporate communications professional in leading firms and institutions such as Efes Pilsen, Hurriyet and Ozyegin University where she developed and activated award winning projects and content that drive engagement and enrich learning. She was the editor-in-chief of National Geographic Turkish Edition for three years. Elvan received her undergraduate degree from Bosphorus University Business Administration, and Executive MBA from Ozyegin University.

Selva Gurdogan graduated from Southern California Institute for Architecture with AIA school medal for excellence. She has worked in Office for Metropolitan Architecture in Rotterdam and in New York between 2002 and 2006. In 2006 she founded Superpool, an Istanbul-based design practice, together with Gregers Tang Thomsen. Superpool has completed projects including Open City: Istanbul exhibition, 2009, Mapping Istanbul book, 2008-2009, Becoming Istanbul exhibition in 2011, Audi Urban Future Award 2012 to study mobility in Istanbul in 2030. Most recently Superpool is commissioned to work on the scenography for the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial. Superpool will also participate in Uneven Growth: Tactical Urbanisms for Expanding Megacities, an exhibition for Museum of Modern Art in New York. Since November 2013, she is the director of Studio-X Istanbul, an urban laboratory that is a part of a network developed by Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

Melis Abacioglu graduated from the German High School in Istanbul and went on to do a double-major on Mathematics and Art History at Columbia University, New York. As a result of an intense soul searching she finally realized that motivating people to do sports is what truly inspires her. In the past three years she co-founded Hareket Candır!* with her husband, a non-for-profit sports-organization that has over 4500 members and that raised over $200K for charity. In 2012 she started her company Actifit, a corporate wellness firm that brings employees into action for a healthier life. Melis is also the founder of Kızlar Sahada, a movement for women's soccer in Turkey that introduced move than 1000 women to the game since 2012. Melis is married to a wonderful man that continues to support her enthusiasm for sports.
