Documentary Screening and Talk: “Depo: Life in Mental Hospitals”

“Depo: Life in Mental Hospitals”, the first feature documentary by Can Dinlenmiş and Ege Kanar, focuses on the daily life of residents within public mental health institutions in Turkey. The film aims to expose the problems inevitably arisen within these restricted spaces and initiates a discussion regarding alternatives to the current model of mental healthcare.
The event is organized in collaboration with Tarlabaşı Community Center, Human Rights in Mental Health Initiative (RUSİHAK) and İstanbul Bilgi University Center for Migration Research. After the screening, there will be a talk with the participation of director Ege Kanar along with Şehnaz Layıkel and Can Feyzioğlu from RUSİHAK.
